Rodos este probabil cunoscuta pentru Colosul din Rodos,fiind si una din cele sapte minuni ale lumii. Colosul a fost o statuie foarte mare a lui Helios, zeul grec si a fost ridicata pe insula intre anii 292-280 I.Hr. Inainte sa fie distrusa, statuia avea o inaltime de peste 30 de metri, fapt ce a facut-o cea mai inalta statuie din timpurile cele mai vechi.
